USPS Notice-Left Forms

The USPS recently updated Notice-Left Forms to include the sender's name. This means that if you're mailing a package to someone in another country, the recipient will know who sent it and where to find it. These updated notice-left forms also include a tracking code. USPS also offers an informed delivery option that informs recipients of incoming mail and includes a picture of the envelope.

A notice-left form can be used for any type of mail. For example, you can use it to notify the recipient that you're sending certified mail. This type of mail will be held by the post office for 15 days before being returned to the sender. Therefore, it's important to give the correct notice period.

USPS employees must fill out the PS Form 3849 if they're unable to deliver mail on a regular day. Typically, a second delivery attempt should be made the next working day. The employee must then return the completed form to the employer. When the notice-left form is filled out, the employee will need to provide proof of the health condition to receive the leave.

USPS has standardized its Notice-Left operations. Essentially, the PS Form 3849 is used when the postal service has attempted delivery but no one is home to receive the mail. This form is also used when a recipient wants a second delivery.
